The new report goes beyond the growing media and PR generalities on this topic. It includes specifics on types of potential attacks and other actionable data.
It also provides context useful for the “Act of War” discussions now occurring between cyber insurers and their clients.
From the report:
…the prolific ransomware gang Conti has sided with Russia. A variety of
other known and new cyber threat actors
are also becoming involved. As of March
1, 2022, there were at least 33 different
cyber threat actor groups actively assisting
Ukraine (22) or in favor of Russia (9)…Additionally, both sides of the conflict are
currently recruiting globally distributed
volunteer cyber offense armies which
further complicates attribution. There
are also unconfirmed reports that the US
Government is exploring all cyber offense
options to disrupt Russia’s ongoing efforts,
though most of these options would “fall
short of an act of war”. (sic)
