Sophos has partnered with Capsule, a UK-based cyber insurance broker. The plan? Simplify insurance access for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) using Sophos cybersecurity solutions through managed service providers (MSPs). This program addresses the growing demand for cyber insurance and helps SMBs avoid long application processes and complex technical criteria.
Chris Bell, senior vice president of worldwide channels and alliances Sophos, stated, “With this partnership we are extending the benefits available to customers that use Sophos solutions through an MSP while also making it easier for MSPs to support their customers’ cyber insurance needs.”

Features of the New Cyber Insurance Program
Capsule’s platform enables fast, digital access to insurance tailored to organizations using Sophos products like Managed Detection and Response (MDR). Key benefits include:
- Automatic premium discounts for Sophos users
- A quick, online application with instant pricing estimates
- Broad coverage for financial losses, crisis support, and response services
- Pre-approval for using Sophos’ incident response services
The partnership aims to close the coverage gap by aligning security controls with insurability. “Cybersecurity and cyber insurance can no longer operate in silos — they must work together to create measurable risk reduction for businesses,” said Liam Green, co-founder and chief operating officer at Capsule.
Market Demand and Risk Reduction Data
Sophos’ research shows that 99% of MSPs report rising customer demand for support. Businesses using MDR services make fewer claims and recover faster from attacks – those using MDR report 97.5% fewer claims than those with endpoint-only protection.
