Sophos, a leader in cybersecurity services, has unveiled a new development for businesses in the United Kingdom. Building on their partnership launched in the United States earlier this year, Sophos is teaming up with Cowbell, a provider of cyber insurance tailored for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The partnership aims to introduce adaptive cyber insurance, a groundbreaking concept that acknowledges and rewards robust cybersecurity practices. This collaboration will empower Sophos Managed Detection and Response (MDR) and endpoint customers across the UK.
Here’s how it works. Sophos customers in the UK will now have the opportunity to share their endpoint health information with Cowbell. In return, they can access competitive pricing and insurance policy offers customized to recognize strong cybersecurity defenses. Participating organizations could benefit from tailored coverage options, in-depth risk assessments, and continuous risk alerts. Cutting-edge AI monitoring and expert human guidance support all of them.
“Security Solutions”
Darren Barker, Regional Vice President of Sales Northern Europe at Sophos, expressed his enthusiasm about this partnership. He said, “We are delighted that Cowbell recognizes the value of our security solutions, including Sophos MDR, which mitigates the risk of major cyber incidents.” The partnership rewards organizations with rigorous cybersecurity postures through optimized insurance pricing and real-time feedback on how to improve their defenses.”
Recent research by Sophos reveals that 84% of businesses in the UK have some form of cyber insurance. However, 58% of them reported that the quality of their cybersecurity defenses significantly impacted their ability to secure cyber insurance. A further 63% noted that the quality of their defenses influenced the cost of their insurance policies. Notably, organizations with cyber insurance have a better chance of recovering data following a ransomware attack. Their insurers’ assistance and strong cybersecurity measures can be credited for this.
Simon Hughes, VP & General Manager for the UK at Cowbell, emphasized the commitment to making cyber insurance more accessible for SMEs. He explained, “Our partnership with Sophos will expand access to cyber insurance to SMEs, an underinsured and underserved business audience, plus provide flexible options based on the size of the company and the coverage needed.”
