Resilience has expanded its European cyber insurance operations to France and Benelux, appointing Marijke van Berkom as Head of France & Benelux. The company, which focuses on cyber risk management and insurance, aims to support clients and brokers in the region with its services.
Building on its operations in the UK, Southern Europe, Ireland, and the Nordics, Resilience will offer up to €10 million of cyber insurance coverage per risk on a primary or excess basis through its partnerships with HDI Speciality Global and RSA UK & Europe.
Resilience CEO Vishal “V8” Hariprasad explained the company’s approach in a statement, emphasizing how Resilience helps businesses translate security and IT risks into financial terms that can be managed through insurance. “This approach is relevant in Europe as cyber-attacks continue to escalate,” he said.
Marijke van Berkom, an insurance professional with over a decade of experience, will lead the expansion. She previously worked as a professional indemnity and cyber underwriter at Chubb and held positions at AXA XL and ACE European Group.
Mario Vitale, president at Resilience, stated that van Berkom’s experience will be valuable in addressing challenges related to cyber risk in mid-size and large organizations. “With Marijke’s experience and knowledge, we are confident that she has the trust of partners as together we help tackle the biggest challenges in measuring, mitigating, and managing cyber risk in mid-size and large organisations,” said Vitale.
This announcement marks the latest step in Resilience’s efforts to expand its cyber insurance reach across Europe as businesses continue to seek more effective ways to manage cyber risk.
