NordVPN Makes NordProtect a Stand-Alone Service for Online Fraud Protection

NordProtect, a digital identity theft protection service from NordVPN, is now available as a stand-alone product in the United States. Previously, it was only accessible through NordVPN’s Prime plan. We have previously reported on credit monitoring, identity theft, Dark Web monitoring, online fraud and extortion, and the growing demand for personal cyber insurance.

New Online Fraud Coverage

The service offers compensation for losses due to romance scams, marketplace fraud, QR code scams, and unauthorized credit card charges. Users may receive up to $10,000 in reimbursements. Notably, investment scams are not covered.

Identity Theft Protection and Cyber Extortion Coverage

NordProtect offers identity recovery assistance with up to $1 million in reimbursement for legal fees and other expenses. Customers experiencing cyber extortion threats, such as blackmail involving stolen data, can receive up to $50,000 for expert assistance and resolution costs.

Credit Monitoring and Dark Web Alerts

NordProtect provides credit monitoring with monthly credit scores and alerts on suspicious activity. Additionally, it scans the dark web 24/7 for leaked personal information, including Social Security numbers, phone numbers, and email addresses.

NordProtect Stand-Alone Service Availability

Currently, NordProtect is available only in the U.S. In other countries, including the U.K., Netherlands, France, Sweden, Germany, and Italy, NordVPN offers cyber insurance benefits within its service bundles.
