NordProtect launched a scam protection bundle to enhance Americans’ personal cybersecurity. The bundle offers identity monitoring, browsing protection, and support for online fraud incidents. It scans dark web markets and alerts users if their data is found. The service flags leaked emails, passwords, and identity details from recent breaches. The bundle also includes NordVPN and Threat Protection for safer browsing. Threat Protection blocks harmful sites, trackers, and risky downloads automatically.
“Unfortunately, online fraud and various scams have become a natural part of our lives, and effective protection must be available to everyone. We believe the best defense is layered, incorporating proactive monitoring, strong digital hygiene, and a clear response plan,” said Tomas Sinicki, managing director at NordProtect.
Monitoring Tools Target Common Scam Categories
NordProtect says the bundle helps protect against phishing, impersonation, and fake online stores. It also covers unlawful transfers, payment redirection, and account takeover attempts. The company includes romance scams and elder fraud in its list of threats. Users can respond quickly by changing passwords and turning on multi-factor authentication.
Coverage Limits Echo A Cyber Insurance Policy Structure
Depending on the plan, coverage includes up to $100,000 for cyber extortion and up to $50,000 for online fraud losses. These limits are similar to those found in personal cyber insurance policies. The highest tier adds Incogni, which removes personal data from broker databases. Removing this data can help reduce targeting by scammers who buy contact lists and profiles. The bundle offers scam protection as a financial safety net after confirmed fraud incidents.
Survey Data Shows Broad Exposure Across The United States
NordProtect shared survey results showing that 46% of Americans have experienced an online scam. Of those, 43% reported losing money. Card skimming was the most common scam in the United States, followed by cryptocurrency scams and romance scams.
