The company announced the move in New York after expanding its cyber strategy across the U.S. market. Kratz reports to Siobhan O’Brien, the global head of cyber for MSIG USA.

Kratz will guide underwriting, product development, and risk management initiatives. MSIG USA expects steady growth in cyber demand as attacks increase in scale and frequency.

Kratz joins MSIG USA after serving as U.S. practice lead for cyber and technology at Ryan Financial Lines. His earlier work included insurance coverage law at Kissel Stratton & Wilmer LLP. He represented domestic and international insurers in cyber liability and other specialty lines. His experience spans legal analysis, underwriting leadership, and market development.

“Kratz’s combination of deep legal and [cyber insurance] underwriting experience makes him an exceptional addition to our team,” said O’Brien. She noted that companies face complex cyber threats, creating demand for solutions built for modern exposures.
