Markel, the insurance arm of Markel Group Inc. (NYSE: MKL), has appointed Isaac Meek as Cyber Senior Underwriter, signaling the company’s sustained commitment to recruiting top-tier underwriting talent. Meek’s role will focus on fostering growth in Markel’s cyber portfolio across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Working closely with Priyesh Pradhan, Professional and Financial Risk (PFR) Senior Underwriter at Markel India, Meek will contribute to the development of Markel’s cyber offerings in both MENA and the wider Asia-Pacific (APAC) area. Additionally, he will play a role in building broker relationships and identifying opportunities for scalability within MENA.
Markel Dubai’s cyber insurance covers a wide range of industries. They offer comprehensive first-party and third-party coverage with line sizes up to USD $10 million. Policyholders will benefit from access to global service providers, a 24/7 crisis management hotline, and specialized cyber support.
Isaac Meek
Formerly with the American Insurance Group (AIG), Meek brings significant experience. During his five-year tenure at AIG, he served in various underwriting capacities, focusing on professional indemnity (PI) and directors & officers (D&O), particularly in blended cyber and tech PI risks for customers in Gulf Corporation Council (GCC) countries, North Africa, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey.
Based in Markel’s Dubai office, Meek will report to Max Robbie, Senior Executive Officer at Markel Dubai. Robbie expressed enthusiasm about Meek’s appointment. “With his wealth of experience, Isaac will help us to identify new territories and geographies to drive profitable growth for the cyber portfolio, with the support of our established cyber underwriting teams in India and Singapore.
