A July 2021 survey by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) highlights a lack of training among insurance personnel involved with cybersecurity policies. “Almost six out of 10 insurance professionals polled said they had not received any training about cyber risk even though they were involved with pricing or underwriting policies related to cyber risks:” says the CII release.
This is clearly not good for insurance providers or customers: “The knowledge gap on cyber insurance could result in mis-selling and poor customer outcomes, rising stars of the underwriting profession have warned,” said CII.
Perhaps the news is not as grim as it seems, as the survey involved a small group of respondents.
