Intel 471 Acquires Cyborg Security to Bolster Cyber Threat Hunting

Posted on May 2, 2024May 2, 2024 By Martin Hinton

Intel 471, a leader in cyber threat intelligence solutions, has announced its acquisition of Cyborg Security, a move poised to enhance its threat-hunting capabilities significantly. This strategic acquisition allows Intel 471 to integrate Cyborg Security’s advanced behavioral detections and cutting-edge threat-hunting technologies into its portfolio.

Jason Passwaters, CEO and Co-Founder of Intel 471 expressed enthusiasm about the merger, highlighting the complementary nature of Cyborg Security’s offerings to Intel 471’s established services. “The inclusion of Cyborg Security’s innovative platform and approach will enhance our ability to support all aspects of our customers’ business,” said Passwaters. He emphasized that this acquisition aligns with Intel 471’s mission to bolster cyber defenses by enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of threat-hunting activities within client environments.

The integration of Cyborg Security’s HUNTER Platform into Intel 471’s solutions seeks to transform threat detection practices by leveraging top-tier cyber threat intelligence to refine the hunt process. This integration aims to boost operational efficiency and provide customers with robust defenses against emerging cyber threats.

Cyber Threat Intelligence

The acquisition reflects a broader industry trend in which the convergence of cyber threat intelligence (CTI) and threat hunting is becoming increasingly essential. Both economic buyers and cybersecurity practitioners are recognizing the necessity of intelligence-led threat hunting as a core element of comprehensive cybersecurity strategies.

David Amsler, CEO and Founder of Cyborg Security, also commented on the merger, noting the shared values and foundational principles of both companies. “Our organizations were built by practitioners who understand the critical role of threat hunting in defending against evolving cyber threats,” Amsler stated. He pointed out that the combination of Intel 471’s intelligence capabilities and Cyborg Security’s innovative solutions equip enterprises with superior tools for effective threat hunting, ensuring a proactive stance in cybersecurity.
