Group-IB, a leader in cybersecurity technology, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Oman-based National Security Services Group L.L.C (NSSG), enhancing cybersecurity capabilities across the Middle East. The announcement was made during the GITEX Global 2024 event in Dubai. This partnership will see NSSG deploying Group-IB’s suite of services, including Threat Intelligence, Fraud Protection, and Digital Risk Protection.
This collaboration aims to bolster cybersecurity for key sectors such as government, finance, oil and gas, and telecommunications. The agreement also includes initiatives to increase public awareness of cyber threats and promote safe cyber practices.
Ashraf Koheil, Regional Sales Director for the Middle East and Africa at Group-IB emphasized the importance of combining expertise and technical innovation to offer enhanced protection against cyber threats. “We are excited to work closely with NSSG to deliver the best protection against cyberthreats for our clients,” he stated.
“Advantageous”
NSSG’s Acting CEO, Warith Al Maawali, highlighted the strategic fit of Group-IB’s offerings with NSSG’s operations, expecting the MOU to boost revenue growth and market share. “Considering that we both target the same sectors, we strongly believe that this MOU will be advantageous for both parties,” Al Maawali noted.
Group-IB has expanded its presence in the Middle East and Africa since May 2021, when it established a full-scale regional headquarters. The headquarters includes a Hi-Tech Crime Investigations lab, Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) lab, and other major divisions within its Digital Crime Resistance Center (DCRC).
Further strengthening its educational initiatives, Group-IB launched a Training Center in September 2021 to provide high-quality, analyst-led cybersecurity training and simulations. This initiative aims to upskill cybersecurity and IT professionals in the region.
The partnership between Group-IB and NSSG represents a significant step towards enhancing cybersecurity infrastructure and expertise in the Middle East, particularly as digital threats become increasingly sophisticated.
