Who says insurance can’t be fun? Demonstrating evidence that you can indeed gamify anything, the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) is bringing a novel twist to the sobering topic of cyber resilience at its annual conference in May 2024. BIBA will unveil The Cyber Hub in an innovative collaboration with CFC, a leader in cyber insurance solutions. This immersive tech experience marries the latest cyber technology insights with things like an engaging ‘beat-the-hacker’ game. This initiative is a testament to the evolving landscape of cyber insurance, aimed at making the learning process both informative and entertaining against the backdrop of rising cybercrime rates in the UK and much of the globe.
Recent statistics from the UK Government indicate a pressing scenario, with approximately 2.39 million instances of cybercrime and 49,000 instances of cyber fraud impacting businesses last year. The Cyber Hub seeks to address this urgency by equipping BIBA members and conference attendees with comprehensive strategies for selling cyber insurance, navigating client objections, and understanding the keystones of effective cyber policies.
Shaune Worrall, Deputy Head of General Insurance at BIBA, remarked on the inception of The Cyber Hub, “Not everyone is confident talking about cyber insurance. The Cyber Hub is a relaxed space where brokers can gain insights into proactive measures that can shield their clients from cyber-attacks. We’re here to demystify cyber insurance and make it accessible.”
“Immersive Journey”
Echoing this sentiment, Pat Brice, Distribution Director at CFC, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership and the creation of The Cyber Hub. “We’re thrilled to sponsor The Cyber Hub at this year’s BIBA conference,” Brice said. “As the official cyber scheme provider for BIBA for the past 20 years, we’re committed to taking brokers on an immersive journey, enhancing their understanding of cyber risks, and arming them with the expertise to guide their clients through the intricacies of cyber insurance.”
Set against the dynamic backdrop of Manchester Central during the BIBA Conference on 15 and 16 May 2024, The Cyber Hub sounds like it’s worth a few minutes of your time. After, you can pet the BIBA’s Lion mascot (just kidding; there will be no lion, at least we don’t think there will be a lion).
