Cysurance, a risk mitigation company, has teamed up with Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. to introduce a new Managed Firewall-as-a-Service (MFaaS) for data center and colocation customers. Announced on May 7, 2024, this service includes certification, warranties, and an Insurability Assessment Program supported by Check Point’s Infinity Global Service team.
Kirsten Bay, CEO of Cysurance, emphasized the vulnerability of data centers to cyberattacks due to the sensitive data they handle. “Data centers are prime targets for cyberattacks,” said Bay. She noted that the collaboration with Check Point enables insurance carriers to offer comprehensive and affordable cybersecurity policies. The services are aimed at combating threats such as malware, ransomware, DDoS attacks, and insider threats.
Bill Diaz, Vice President of Vertical Solution Business at Check Point, commented on the effectiveness of their MFaaS. “Check Point’s MFaaS has a proven track record of catching 99.8% of zero-day +1 malware, reducing risk exposure for data center customers,” Diaz stated. He expressed satisfaction with the partnership, highlighting its potential to improve risk management for data centers through a unique cybersecurity certification, warranty, and insurability assessment service.
This collaboration between Cysurance and Check Point is designed to meet the rigorous standards required by underwriters of enterprise technology risks. It allows warranties attached to Cysurance-certified solutions to be applied towards cyber-insurance deductibles and other expenses, providing financial support until insurance claims are fully processed.
Through this partnership, Cysurance and Check Point aim to enhance cybersecurity measures in data centers, make advanced security solutions more accessible and financially viable, and improve defenses against an evolving array of digital threats.
