AI integration enhances Aviva’s cyber exposure management
CyberCube and Aviva have partnered to apply AI technology to cyber threat intelligence and risk management. The collaboration uses CyberCube’s Portfolio Threat Actor Intelligence tool to identify threat actor behavior and their preferred targets.
Aviva becomes the first insurer to apply this tool regularly in its exposure management process. The system leverages large language models (LLMs) to analyze data leaks and forensic intelligence linked to ransomware groups.
Targeted threat insights for commercial portfolios
By integrating AI-powered analytics, Aviva identifies which firms in its commercial portfolio are most exposed to specific threat actors. This supports a more tailored approach to cyber risk management and underwriting.
James Mitchell, Senior Cyber Pricing and Exposure Manager at Aviva said, “Customers identified as higher risk can then receive more tailored advice from (re)insurers. For instance, assisting customers with the selection of appropriate cybersecurity tabletop exercises that are specifically linked to the tactics of the higher-risk threat actors.”
This approach allows for risk-specific customer advice. For instance, clients with higher exposure can receive guidance on selecting cyber resilience exercises linked to relevant threat tactics.
Quarterly assessments to meet evolving cyber threats
Aviva plans to update its threat intelligence quarterly to adapt to evolving cyber threats. This ensures that risk assessments reflect real-time intelligence and current threat actor behaviors.
