Cyber Insurers Join NIST to Create New Framework for Cybersecurity Products and Audits; From White House Cyber Summit w/ President Biden and Industry

“The National Institute of Standards and Technology will work with Microsoft, Google and the insurance industry companies Travelers and Coalition to create a new framework designed to help guide the creation of more secure technology products and to audit the security of technology products, the administration said in the fact sheet.”

Coalition and Resilience also announced additional initiatives:

  • “Resilience, a cyber insurance provider, announced it will require policy holders to meet a threshold of cybersecurity best practice as a condition of receiving coverage.
  • Coalition, a cyber insurance provider, announced it will make its cybersecurity risk assessment & continuous monitoring platform available for free to any organization.”

Google and Microsoft also pledged to spend $30 billion on cybersecurity initiatives between them & IBM pledged to train 150,000 cyber security workers over the coming three years.
