ROI and Savings
ManageEngine’s Endpoint Central has delivered a 442% return on investment (ROI) over three years, according to a newly released Total Economic Impact™ (TEI) study by Forrester Consulting. Even more impressively, companies saw full payback in under six months. Endpoint Central, a unified endpoint management and security (UEMS) platform, helped companies cut costs, reduce IT workload, and strengthen endpoint security.
“Many of our customers have significantly reduced operational overhead and administrative burden by replacing multiple tools with Endpoint Central. That’s exactly the kind of outcome Endpoint Central was built to deliver,” said Mathivanan Venkatachalam, vice president of ManageEngine.
The study modeled a composite organization based on interviews with IT leaders across banking, software, automotive, and manufacturing industries.
Benefits in Just Three Years
The study found a total of $4.5 million in quantified benefits over three years. That includes savings from legacy software decommissioning, license reclamation, and automation.
Key results included:
- $913,000 in productivity gains from automated patching
- $1.1 million saved from retiring legacy endpoint tools
- $820,000 saved through improved asset management
- $922,000 in help desk savings from self-service portals and remote troubleshooting
Endpoint Central also cut manual patching time by up to 95%, allowing IT teams to shift focus to higher-value work.

One IT director reported a jump in device compliance rates, from 70% to over 95%, after deploying Endpoint Central. “Devices are much more stable and easier to manage. We were even able to save cyber insurance costs due to this increased security posture,” said the IT director.
Endpoint Central’s features, like patch automation, threat detection, and policy enforcement, make devices more secure and compliant. That security helps avoid breaches and lowers risk profiles, a key metric for insurers.
Remote Work Support and Cost Reductions
Endpoint Central’s all-in-one dashboard allowed IT teams to manage 15,000 endpoints remotely. With 80% of these devices cloud-based, the platform proved essential in hybrid and global work settings.
It allowed organizations to ship laptops worldwide, configure them remotely, and maintain security compliance in hours.
Help desk teams also saved time. Automated self-service tools helped users reset passwords and install software without IT involvement. These efficiencies lowered resolution times and reduced operational disruptions.
Easy to Implement, Simple to Use
Deployment took most organizations just 1 to 3 months, with minimal training costs. The TEI study estimates $227,000 spent on training and management over three years.
Security Gains Beyond Dollars
Beyond financial gains, Endpoint Central also delivered real-time risk reduction. Its features include:
- Continuous vulnerability scanning
- USB and device-level restrictions
- Threat behavior analytics
- Least privilege enforcement
