Cowbell Cyber has appointed Simon Hughes as Chief Commercial Officer. The appointment takes effect upon the company’s entry into its next growth phase.
As Senior Vice President and UK General Manager, Hughes launched Cowbell’s UK operations and expanded its international distribution.
Trent Cooksley, co-founder and chief operating officer, credited Hughes with being pivotal in Cowbell’s global expansion and stressed that resolute commercial leadership is mission-critical as the company scales worldwide. “Simon has been instrumental in shaping Cowbell’s international presence and elevating our commercial capabilities,” said Cooksley.
Leadership Shift Signals Commercial Focus
As Chief Commercial Officer, Hughes will direct global distribution, forge strategic partnerships, lead international expansion, and develop new markets. He will guide efforts in both established and emerging markets.
“As we move into this next cycle, I’m eager to help drive our global commercial strategy and continue building a platform that delivers protection with clarity, confidence, and scale,” said Hughes.
Cowbell serves small and mid-sized organizations worldwide in the cyber insurance and specialty insurance sectors. The company aims to scale revenue while boosting operational profitability.

Since joining Cowbell, Hughes has fortified broker alliances and broadened the producer network, now surpassing 35,000 producers globally.
The company continues to expand its risk pool and product portfolio. Recent expansion supports its strategy to act as a broader digital risk protection partner.
