Coalition has announced the acquisition of Wirespeed, an automated cybersecurity platform that processes threat detections in milliseconds. The move integrates managed detection and response (MDR) with Coalition’s cyber risk management tools and cyber insurance coverage, offering faster, automated protection against evolving cyber threats.
Automated MDR Meets Active Insurance
Joshua Motta, Coalition’s CEO, said the acquisition “represents the next phase of Coalition’s mission to protect the unprotected.” He added, “By combining fully automated, rapid Managed Detection & Response with our Active Insurance platform, we’re setting a new standard for digital risk prevention.”
The integration aims to reduce response times during attacks, giving businesses a stronger chance to maintain operations and avoid disruption. Automated MDR offers scalable, cost-effective protection against complex threats that traditional tools often miss.
Wirespeed’s Technology Accelerates Cyber Defense
Wirespeed’s platform delivers verdicts on detections in under two seconds using probabilistic AI and ChatOps integrations with Slack, Teams, and SMS. It cuts alert noise by 99.99%, improving clarity and response precision.
Wirespeed CEO Tim MalcomVetter said, “Attackers are moving faster, telemetry volumes are unmanageable, and defenders are numb to alerts. We built Wirespeed to change that.”
By joining Coalition, Wirespeed will merge its instant threat analysis with Coalition’s Active Data Graph and claims intelligence, providing round-the-clock protection. MalcomVetter will become General Manager, Security, while CTO Jake Reynolds will serve as Head of Engineering, Coalition Security.
Advancing Cyber Insurance Coverage
Coalition’s acquisition of Wirespeed enhances the link between automated cybersecurity and cyber insurance coverage. The combined platform helps policyholders receive automated alerts and expert guidance while reducing incident frequency and claims costs.
Jake Reynolds said, “By joining Coalition, we are marrying sophisticated, automated MDR with the cyber insurance industry’s comprehensive risk intelligence.”
The collaboration underscores a shift toward prevention-first cyber protection, empowering businesses not just to recover from attacks but to avoid them entirely.
