CFC has launched a dedicated European corporate cyber team to expand its cyber insurance services across Europe. The specialist insurer appointed Ilaria Silvato, former international underwriting manager for cyber risks at Beazley, to lead this team and drive its growth. Silvato, with 13 years in the insurance industry, brings extensive knowledge of the insurance cycle and a focus on client needs.
CFC’s Corporate Cyber Practice Leader, Andrew Prendergast, highlighted the company’s success in providing large primary cyber risk solutions to European brokers from its London headquarters. However, with increasing market growth and more complex threats, CFC saw a need to establish a team closer to its European partners. This team will provide localized expertise and solutions, catering to brokers and clients in multiple European languages.
Expansion
Operating from Brussels and Madrid, with additional offices planned, CFC aims to strengthen support for European brokers in delivering complex cyber solutions. Silvato, fluent in Italian, Spanish, and English, will work from Spain to oversee client relationships across Europe and build a team to meet the region’s growing demands.
Silvato expressed excitement for her new role, stating, “I am truly thrilled to be a part of this exciting new chapter for CFC. The business has blazed a trail in the cyber market and has a reputation for service and innovation that is second to none.” In the company announcement, she emphasized the team’s commitment to “building a European-based team with a broad appetite across many industry sectors and a willingness to consider distressed risks,” reinforcing CFC’s dedication to its European broker partners.
This expansion marks CFC’s latest step in positioning itself as a leader in corporate cyber insurance in Europe, providing brokers with robust, localized support in a rapidly evolving cyber risk landscape.
