Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has named Thomas Pache as Head of PI/Cyber Insurance for the DACH region—covering Germany, Austria, and Switzerland—and appointed Kim Schumacher as Senior Property Underwriter. The company has also opened a new office in Hamburg to enhance its presence and build closer connections with broker partners and customers in the region.
Thomas Pache, with over 30 years of experience, will lead the newly launched PI and cyber insurance lines, focusing on providing comprehensive solutions for the information technology and software sectors. Kim Schumacher, with nearly two decades in the industry, will be responsible for expanding BHSI’s Mittelstand property business across Germany.
Andreas Krause, Head of DACH, emphasized the company’s commitment to delivering expertise and solutions that meet the needs of the local market. He highlighted BHSI’s “CLAIMS IS OUR PRODUCT” philosophy, which, combined with its brand strength and experienced team, makes it a strong fit for the region.
The Hamburg office’s opening marks BHSI’s expanding footprint in the DACH region, as the company aims to provide tailored property, casualty, and executive & professional lines solutions to its growing customer base.
