The Beckage Firm has announced the promotion of Lee Merreot, Esq., CIPM, CIPP/US, and CIPP/E to partner. The women-owned firm specializes in cybersecurity and data privacy law.
Lee Merreot’s Role at The Beckage Firm
Merreot has been a key member of The Beckage Firm, advising businesses on privacy and cybersecurity compliance. She helps companies implement security programs, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with global data protection laws.

She holds three privacy certifications from the International Association of Privacy Professionals. She also assists businesses in responding to data breaches, negotiating contracts, and managing data privacy risks.
Industry Recognition and Leadership
Jennifer Beckage, founder and managing partner, praised Merreot’s contributions. “Her promotion to partner reflects her dedication and leadership in data privacy law,” Beckage said.
The Beckage Firm has received industry recognition, including Cyber Law Firm of the Year in 2024 and a ranking in the 2025 New York Chambers Spotlight Guide.
Future Contributions

In January, The Beckage Firm announced the addition of cybersecurity expert Cristina Di Maria, Esq., CIPP/US, as a partner. Di Maria specializes in cyber risk management, regulatory compliance, and data security incidents. She has experience handling digital forensic investigations, network restoration, and ransomware negotiations.
