Arctic Wolf Networks, Inc. has introduced the Arctic Wolf Cyber Resilience Assessment. It aims to help businesses evaluate their cybersecurity postures and improve their chances of obtaining cyber liability insurance. According to IDC, as the threat landscape grows, almost half of organizations require a risk assessment to qualify for cyber insurance. The tool aligns with industry-standard frameworks such as those from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the Center for Internet Security (CIS), providing businesses with a measurable way to assess their cyber resilience.
Scott Holewinski, Senior Vice President of Security Journey at Arctic Wolf, emphasized the importance of the tool in the context of cyber liability insurance. He stated, “Transferring certain business risks to a cyber insurance policy is a necessary piece of the fight to end cyber risk. Effectively assessing and communicating their security posture is critical, whether companies are just starting down the path to obtain a cyber insurance policy, or are facing their annual insurance renewal.”
“Challenging Threat”
Jacob Ingerslev, Senior Vice President of Underwriting, Cyber, and Technology at Tokio Marine HCC, highlighted the challenges in the current market, which is saturated with proprietary risk assessment tools that often lack standardization. He remarked, “In this challenging threat landscape, insurability has become a board-level concern for clients. Being able to provide businesses with transparent security posture assessments will help technical leaders communicate areas of investment to board-level stakeholders and ultimately help businesses work towards becoming more insurable.”
Kristi Yauch, Vice President of Information Security at Winnebago Industries Inc., also pointed out the critical role of standardized frameworks in navigating today’s evolving threat environment. She said, “Cyber risk is business risk. In order to withstand the pressures of today’s rapidly evolving threat landscape and increasing regulatory demands, it’s critical that organizations can directly map security posture to industry-standard frameworks and assure insurability; this assessment gives leaders the knowledge and insight to effectively navigate their security journey in the most impactful ways.”
The Arctic Wolf, Cyber Resilience Assessment, is now available through the Unified Portal for all Arctic Wolf customers. It includes features like industry-standard framework mapping, an integrated cyber liability insurance rating, and dynamic risk ranking and prioritization to help businesses manage and communicate their cybersecurity risks more effectively.
