Cyber risk firm Resilience has named Maria Long as its new Chief Underwriting Officer. Long will oversee underwriting operations and strategy across Resilience’s growing portfolio. She reports directly to George Kotsiopoulos, President of Insurance. Kotsiopoulos cited Long’s cyber expertise as critical to the company’s goals. “Maria’s experience in cyber risk is difficult to match,” he said. “She’s earned strong trust across our teams.”
Long has spent 17 years in the insurance industry. She has dedicated nearly 10 years to cyber underwriting and risk management. Her career includes roles at Munich Re Specialty and Allied World.

At Munich Re, Long led the development of a cyber risk management program. At Allied World, she helped shape an industry-leading cyber platform.
Long holds a master’s degree in communications and leadership from Purdue University.
She emphasized Resilience’s approach to risk. “Rather than simply transferring risk, we partner with clients to improve their risk posture,” Long said.
Long described Resilience’s method as collaborative and data-driven. “This leads to better underwriting outcomes and real cyber resilience,” she added.
The appointment comes as Resilience grows its enterprise client base and expands into new sectors.
