Envelop Risk, a data-driven reinsurance and analytics specialist, has launched Envelop Underwriting to unify all its existing cyber underwriting in one strategic framework. This new division encompasses Envelop Risk Bermuda, Envelop at Lloyd’s, and Envelop Risk SPA 1925.
Industry veteran Dom Peters joins as CEO of Envelop Underwriting, reporting directly to co-founder and group CEO Jonathan Spry. Peters will oversee the management and governance of Envelop’s underwriting activities. Underwriting, portfolio management, and capital functions reporting to him. He will also develop the company’s growth strategy and assist with underwriting product development.
Peters brings over 27 years of industry experience. As an underwriter at Dale Underwriting Partners (Syndicate 1729), he led the syndicate to its largest profit. Previously, as chief underwriting officer of MS Amlin’s global reinsurance unit, Peters managed a £1.3 billion book. He also served as joint active underwriter for Syndicate 2001 and as deputy head of reinsurance at MS Amlin.
CEO Jonathan Spry said in company press releases announcing the news, “Envelop Underwriting unifies our operations under one framework, enhancing our underwriting focus and accelerating growth into new markets. I am delighted to welcome Dom to lead the division. His expertise and international experience will strengthen our ability to support the sustainable growth of the cyber insurance market globally.”
