NordVPN, a leading VPN provider, has launched NordProtect, an identity theft protection service that functions like a personal cyber insurance policy. Currently available to NordVPN Prime users in the US, it combines cybersecurity expertise with advanced technology to safeguard users from identity theft.
“NordProtect is another step to fully secure customers as online threats advance,” said Tomas Sinicki, managing director of NordProtect. “Even with all necessary cybersecurity tools installed, one careless click can expose your identity to cybercriminals. NordProtect helps recover and restore lost identity assets.”
NordProtect offers several key features:
Identity Recovery and Restoration: Victims can receive up to $1 million to cover expenses like legal costs and lost wages. NordProtect provides a case manager to assist in recovery.
Secure Credit Monitoring: Customers get monthly credit scores and alerts on suspicious activity.
24/7 Dark Web Monitoring: Alerts users if their personal data is found on the dark web.
Cyber Extortion Protection: Offers $100,000 for expert assistance and payments in response to cyber threats.
Additionally, a personal data removal service called Incogni is available with some NordVPN bundles worldwide.
Identity Theft Protection
“Identity theft is a global problem, and its frequency is on the rise,” explained Sinicki. “We are continuously enhancing NordProtect’s features and adding new tools. We plan to launch NordProtect in more markets and as a standalone product in the first half of 2025.”
NordVPN began focusing on this area in late 2023. It launched cyber protection and cyber insurance benefits in the US and Europe.
NordVPN is the first brand in the Nord Security family. In recent years, the company expanded its cybersecurity suite by launching products like NordPass, NordLocker, and NordLayer. This year, it introduced Saily and NordStellar to enhance its offerings further.
